If you are feeling like you are defective or that something is wrong with you, remember it is not a sin to have a mental health disorder.
It is however a result of sin in the world. But feeling shame for having a mental disorder can sometimes be common amoung those struggling with mental illness. But it is not worth feeling bad for having mental health struggles, as it is not your fault. You are not alone God is with you. God still loves and cares for you despite your illness.

The bible says cast your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
God loves and cares for you and no mental illness will stop him from loving you. He knows what you are battling with. God will win the battle over your mind. It says that God wants us to have a sound mind. He gives that to us.
You are not an accident. God does not make mistakes. He did not make one when he created you.
The enemy wants to berate you and condem you. Don't let him.
You may have a mental health illness but don't let that define you. You are a child of God. You are not your illness. You are much much more than that. There is so much more to you than meets the eye.
Having a mental illness does not make you less than. You are not a failure because you suffer from mental health issues.
There is no shame in seeking support from counsellors or mental health professionals and praying about it. Also sometimes taking medicine, can be very helpful. Bipolar and Schizophrenia are only two examples among many mental health disorders, where taking medicine prescribed by a Psychiatrist long term is very important and effective at keeping a person well.

The love God has for you is not based on conditions. The love you have for yourself should not be based on conditions either. God loves us unconditionally. If you don't have that house you are still worthy. If you don't have that job, or cannot work because of your debilitating health condition you are still worthy and good enough. And because you suffer from a mental health illness you are still good enough and worth it. You are very important to God. You are still loved by God.
Society says we are not good enough if we are different and that we must be human doings. But I believe we must focus on our inner selves and focus on who we are as unique human beings. Not love ourselves or be valued for what we do or have, but instead for who we are. There is so much focus on externals we loose ourselves. And don't focus on the person inside.
'Having a mental illness may make you stand out. So what!'
You don't have to answer to anyone or apologise for living with or having an illness. Don't feel ashamed for what you are struggling with.

No one is walking in your shoes except you. You must be your own best friend and be on your own side.
Many people today are suffering from Mental illness. It is on the rise. Mental health is so important. We all need to learn how to look after our mental health better, the way we focus on and look after our physical health.
If you feel shame. Don't. Remember. God is definitely with you. For you and not against you.
